Robersonville - On the morning of July 1, 2025, Mrs. Cathryn Ann Keel Grimes, age 83, of Robersonville, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at ECU Health Edgecombe Hospital in Tarboro, under the excellent care of ECU Hospice and Hospital staff. She was born on October 13, 1939, in Gold Point, a daughter of the late Dallas and Allie Gee Keel.

Ann was preceded in death by both of her parents and older sister, Rachel Brown.

She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Ed Grimes, Jr.; son, Edward Grimes (and wife, Lisa); grandsons, Collin Grimes (and wife, Jen) and Eric Grimes; great grandson, Ellias Grimes; sister, Norma Rogers; and several nieces and nephews.

She was a member of First Christian Church in Robersonville. She loved her family and extended family, and it brought her joy to hear from them and to spend time with them. It was a great blessing for her to get to meet and hear her great grandson say his version of Granny. She also enjoyed spending time in her yard, especially getting to see the beautiful array of azaleas, Gerbera daisies, and other spring flowers that appeared annually.

A memorial service is scheduled for 4 pm on Monday, July 7th, 2025, at First Christian Church (126 South Main Street) in Robersonville, NC. Visitation will follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her memory to the First Christian Church, PO Box 755, Robersonville, NC 27871 or a ministry of your choice.
