Rensselaer-Cathy Ann Boulé, a remarkable woman whose strength and kindness touched everyone she met, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2024, at the age of 69, with her family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on November 2, 1955, in Rensselaer, New York, Cathy was the proud daughter of the late Joan and Robert Boulé, who instilled in her a sense of determination, kindness, and an unwavering zest for life.
Cathy's passion for fitness was unmatched. She was an accomplished bodybuilder, earning numerous trophies that reflected her discipline, resilience, and dedication. Beyond the gym, Cathy found joy in the outdoors, whether gliding across serene waters in her kayak or teeing off on the golf course. Her adventurous spirit was always accompanied by her faithful dog, Shiya, whose loyalty and companionship brought Cathy endless happiness.
Cathy's career with the United States Postal Service spanned 25 years, during which she served with tireless dedication. Her journey through life took her to Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia, and Texas, where she made friends wherever she went.
Cathy is predeceased by her brother-in-law David Browe, and her sister-in-law Deborah Reimann. She is survived by her loving boyfriend, David Filkoski and his daughters, Abby Filkoski (Graham) and Olivia Filkoski; her brother, Robert Boulé (Celine); her sister, Janet Browe; her nephew, Shawn Boulé (Sarah); her nephew, Wil Irving; and her cherished great-nieces, Addyson and Skylar. She also leaves behind a wide circle of family members and friends who will forever treasure her memory.
Cathy's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew her as a woman of strength, grace, and unwavering love for life. Her family and friends will carry her memory in their hearts, honoring her by embracing life with the same joy and passion that defined Cathy's journey.
Rest in peace, Cathy Ann. May your spirit continue to inspire us as we carry forward your love of life and adventure.
Family, friends and community members are invited to call for a celebration of Cathy's life on Saturday, December 7, 2024, from 3pm to 5pm at the W.J. Lyons, Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Ave, Rensselaer, NY 12144. A burial will be private at the request of Cathy and her family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Cathy's honor to the American Cancer Society.
