Cathy Jodith (Frucci) Machemer, a lifelong resident of Niles, Michigan, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on June 6, 1949, to the late Joseph and Edith (Asmus) Frucci, Cathy's life was a rich tapestry woven with love, kindness, and the joy of simple pleasures.

Cathy was a 1967 graduate of Niles High School, where she later found joy in serving the students as a member of the cafeteria staff. Her gentle spirit and warm smile became a comforting presence to many generations of students. Cathy's dedication to her work was a testament to her caring nature and her commitment to her community.

Her first husband, Art Machemer, predeceased her, but love found Cathy again in her partner of over 46 years, Nicholas Weaver. Together, they shared a life filled with laughter, adventure, and unwavering support for one another. Cathy was a devoted mother to her son, Joe Machemer, and her late daughter, Amy Jo Machemer. Her family circle also included her late brother, David Frucci, her sister-in-law, Tammy Frucci, and her brother Tim (Janis) Frucci, as well as a host of nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory.

Cathy's interests were a reflection of her loving and gentle nature. She had a talent for crocheting afghan blankets, each stitch a symbol of her care and attention to detail. Family was the cornerstone of Cathy's life, and she embraced the tradition of Sunday family dinners, originally hosted by her mother and later with Cathy's help, as sacred gatherings that nurtured the bonds of family.

An adventurer at heart, Cathy and Nick enjoyed camping with their close-knit group of friends, exploring the beauty of Michigan's great outdoors. Her 1970 Lagoon Grey Corvette was not just a car but a prized possession that brought her immense joy and a sense of freedom.

At home, Cathy took pleasure in the tranquility of her pool, where she found solace and relaxation. Her home was not just a structure but a sanctuary where love, laughter, and memories were cultivated.

Cathy's legacy is one of unwavering love, kindness, and a gentle spirit that touched the lives of all who knew her. Her passing leaves a void in the hearts of her loved ones, but her memory will be treasured and her influence will continue to be felt by all who were blessed to know her.

Visitation to celebrate Cathy's life will take place, October 10, 2025 at Brown Funeral Home from 5-7 p.m.

Those wishing to make memorial donations in honor of Cathy have been asked to consider Blossomland Learning Center, 711 St. Joseph Avenue, Berrien Springs, MI 49103.

Cathy Jodith (Frucci) Machemer's life was a journey marked by compassion, resilience, and the enduring strength of familial love.
