John Joseph Machemer, 78, of Yardville, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at Legacy Gardens at Bristol surrounded by his loving family. He was born in West Chester, PA to parents, Robert and Anna Machemer. He graduated from Central High School in Philadelphia in 1963. He received his Bachelor's degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University. John was the Director of Risk Management for AMSTAR in New York, NY for 15 years. He also worked as a consultant for both Revlon and Estee Lauder. John served his country honorably in the U.S. Army from 1969 to 1971.
John grew up in scouting with the Boy Scouts of America, which was a family tradition. He was a fan of the Philadelphia Eagles.
He loved nothing more than quality time spent with his family, especially his beloved grandchildren, taking every opportunity to be with them at their various activities until he could no longer.
John was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many.
Son of the late Robert and Anna (Melnyk) Machemer; husband of the late Gail (Gillespie) Machemer; brother of the late William Machemer; and uncle of the late Robert Machemer.
John is survived by his daughter, Julie and husband Rick Burnett; two grandsons, Damian and Brayden Burnett; two sisters-in-law, Irene Machemer, and Jane and husband Robert Scraver; nieces and nephews, Eric Machemer and wife Phyllis, Jim Machemer and wife Sara, Jennifer and husband Greg Paulick, Bobby Scraver, and Courtney Scraver; as well as great nieces and great nephews, and other family and friends.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Monday, November 13, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hamilton Brenna-Cellini Funeral Home, 2365 Whitehorse-Mercerville Rd., Hamilton, NJ 08619. Catholic prayer services will be held at 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Cremation will be held privately. Interment will be held at a later date at the Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ where he will be laid to rest with his beloved wife Gail.
