Kathy Earlene (Cox) Banaszak, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2025, in her hometown of Battle Creek, Michigan. Born on January 11, 1954, in the same close-knit community, Kathy's life was a testament to the power of kindness and commitment to one's roots.

Kathy was the cherished daughter of the late Earl and Alma (Buckner) Cox-Chadwick. Her journey through life was shared with her loving daughters, Kristan (Lloyd) de Vera and Lisa (Ryan) Cropsey, and her nephew, Cory Grevers who was like a son to Kathy, were the pride of her life. Her legacy continues through her adored grandchildren, Trent Sanchez, Brandon de Vera, and Clara de Vera, who will carry forward her spirit of warmth and generosity. Kathy was a beloved sister to Paulette (Tim) Julian, Russell (Debbie) Cox, and Phyllis Cox, each of whom will miss her deeply.

After graduating from high school, Kathy pursued her passion for beauty by obtaining her license as a cosmetologist. Her career spanned over five decades, during which time she not only styled hair but also touched the lives of her clients, many of whom became like family to her. Kathy was known for her ability to listen and uplift, leaving both the hearts and appearances of those she met brighter. Kathy saw one of her dreams come true after opening her own shop, Nature's Designs Salon where she served her clients for over 25 years.

Kathy's commitment to her faith was evident in her involvement with the Downtown Church, where she was not only a member but also an active participant in the choir and children's church. Her Christian values were the cornerstone of her existence, guiding her actions and interactions throughout her life.

Her interests extended beyond her work and her church; Kathy was a devoted family woman who cherished her time with her loved ones. She eagerly anticipated her trips to Virginia and was known for her ability to see the bright side in every situation, a trait that endeared her to all.

Described by those who knew her as loving, kind, and faith-filled, Kathy's presence was a constant source of joy and comfort. One of Kathy's favorite ways to serve others was through her culinary skills. She loved to create dishes seasoned with love and deliver them to others.

Funeral Services to celebrate Kathy's life will take place October 15, 2025, at Downtown Church, 135 Hamblin Ave, Battle Creek, Michigan 49017 at 12 p.m. with a time of visitation one hour prior, and concluding with a procession to Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens.
