Judy Marie Hoolsema

Judy Marie Hoolsema, age 66, of Delton, MI, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 2, 2025.

Born with a heart of gold and an adventure-filled spirit, Judy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was a faith-filled Christian whose generous and supportive nature touched everyone she met.

For many years, Judy served as a dedicated Legal Secretary at the Barry County Courthouse, where her professionalism and warmth were appreciated by her colleagues. Following her retirement, she poured her creative energy into Handmade By Jennie's Granddaughter, crafting beautiful quilts and other handmade items. She also devoted her time and compassion to volunteering at Alternatives of Battle Creek, demonstrating her unwavering commitment to helping others.

Judy lived a life filled with joy and creativity. Her favorite pastimes included quilting, tending to her garden, camping, and traveling. She was the beloved matriarch of her family, always finding excuses to host family gatherings and enjoying precious time spent with her children and grandchildren.

Judy is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Don Hoolsema, and their four devoted daughters: Angela Buss, Jessica Peacock, Elizabeth Taylor, and Samantha Krebs. She was a cherished grandmother to nine grandchildren: Makayla Cardosa (Josh Cardosa), Nicholas Peacock, Jr. (Madison Peacock), Gavin Steeno, Cameron Buss, Addilyn Krebs, Ellianna Krebs, Greenley Buss, and Ivy Krebs.

She is also survived by five siblings: Jim Jager, John Jager, Gregg Parent, Rick Jager, and Cathy Jager.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Jager and Patricia Morgan, and four siblings, Nancy Gettys, Ken Jager, Sr., Karen Chastain, and Trisha Siebenthal.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 3:00 PM, followed by a Memorial Service at 4:00 PM at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care in Battle Creek, MI. Memorial donations may be made to Haven Maternity Housing of Battle Creek. Flowers are also gladly accepted, as Judy loved them.
