Ceci Fogerson Obituary
Cecilia Wardy Fogerson, entered into eternal life on January 1, 2023. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend.
A 1961 graduate of Loretto Academy of El Paso, followed by a prolific career as an educator for over 40 years, specializing in ESL (English as a second Language). She was an active member for many years at St. Matthew Catholic Parish, teaching sacramental preparation classes, then attending St. Mark Catholic Church in her later years.
“Ceci” was a beautifully unique soul with the ability to leave a lasting impact on all who had the chance to know her. Many of her former students, colleagues, and acquaintances remained connected to her, a warm greeting in public, a phone call, or visit from any one of them was not unusual. Above all, she loved God, her family, and especially her grandchildren. Her presence will be dearly missed.
Preceded in death by her son; Steven, her parents; Fred and Kika (Francisca). Survived and celebrated by her children; Melanie Ramirez, husband; Frank and daughters; Chelsey and Olivia. Rachel Miller, husband; Kevin. Chris Raines, wife Laura Aldridge. Justin Raines, partner Phillip Suarez. Claudia Garcia, husband Orlando, and their children Matthew, Noah, and Lilly. Her sister Christy, brother Danny, and countless cousins, nieces, grand-nieces, aunts, uncles, and friends.
A special thank you to Dr. Reznichencko and the amazing nurses and staff at Providence East for taking such great care.
At her request, cremation has already taken place. Visitation will be held Thursday, February 2, 2023 from 5pm-8pm with recitation of the Rosary at 6:30 at Sunset Funeral Home, 480 North Resler. Funeral Mass will be Friday, February 3, 2023 at 10:30am at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 400 West Sunset Rd. Internment will immediately follow at Memory Gardens of the Valley, 4900 McNutt Rd (Santa Teresa, NM).

Ceci was a driving force and an inspiration to all of us at Jefferson High school for so many years. Her sense of humor, her compassion, and her kindness will be remembered by so many of us who knew her and valued her professionalism. My deepest condolences to the family.
