Cecil Lee Bone, age 76 of Gatesville, passed away on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at his home on the Bone farm in Gatesville.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 5 at Scott’s Funeral Home in Gatesville. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, May 5 at Old Columbia Cemetery in West Columbia.
Cecil was born on September 13, 1948, in Gatesville, Texas to Robert Pratt (Pat) Bone and Henry Etta Edwards. He attended the University of Texas, graduating proudly in 1971 with a Bachelor of Arts with high honors.
Cecil retired in 2003 from Army Test and Evaluation Command. He married Suzanne Trull in 1988. Cecil enjoyed spending time running marathons, running cattle, fostering cats, and being a member of Pecan Grove Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday school for many years.
He was preceded in death by his father Pat Bone and his wife Suzanne.
Cecil is survived by his mother, Henry Etta Bone; brothers, Bob Bone, Joe Bone, and wife, Glenda; sister, Patti Bone and husband, James Dobbs; and nieces and nephews, Rachael Coe, Ben Coe, Mike Bone, Jessica Bone, Amanda Daly, Reid Daly, Zane Bone, Payton Williams and Tillman Williams.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to the Georgetown Area Parkinson’s Support Group (GAPS) at gapstx.org/donate, 1530 Sun City Blvd, Suite 120 Georgetown, Texas 78630.
