Cecilia Internicola, beloved mother and wife, a beacon of selfless love and generosity, departed from this world on June 10, 2025, in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Born on October 28, 1944, in the heart of Brooklyn, New York, Cecilia's life was a testament to the power of caring and devotion. Her earthly journey was a reflection of her unwavering faith and her commitment to serve others, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her.
Cecilia's formative years at Franklin K. Lane High School laid the foundation for a life of service, which was further nurtured through her education at Bellevue Nursing School in New York City and Orange County Community College. Her calling as a Registered Nurse was not merely a profession but a vocation that spanned over four decades. Cecilia's hands, guided by divine compassion, brought healing and hope to countless individuals, from the bustling city hospitals to the tranquil villages of Tunisia, Africa, where she served as a Peace Corps Nursing Volunteer.
In her community, Cecilia was a cherished volunteer, offering her skills and warmth at the local homeless shelter and instilling a love for reading in the young minds at public schools. Her dedication to her craft and her community was a living example of the Gospel's call to love thy neighbor.
As a loving wife to her late husband, Anthony Internicola, who preceded her in 2009, Cecilia's love story continued through her unwavering commitment to her family. She was a pillar of strength and the embodiment of unconditional love to her daughter Toni Hull, her son Vito Internicola, daughter in law Kate Internicola, and son-in-law Jason Hull. Her sister, Joy Pinto, shared in the journey of life's joys and sorrows, bound by the deep ties of sisterhood.
Cecilia's life was one of ceaseless giving, and her interests were a reflection of her nurturing spirit. She found joy in the simplicity of cooking and baking, in the excitement of shopping and socializing with friends, and in the quiet moments spent caring for her beloved family. Her children and family were her world, and she poured herself into their well-being with every fiber of her being.
In the words that best capture her essence, Cecilia was loving, generous, and selfless. Her legacy is not in the material but in the countless lives touched by her kindness. She walked in faith, acted in love, and inspired through her actions, leaving a legacy of love that will continue to ripple through the generations.
As we celebrate Cecilia's journey home, let us hold fast to the memories she has gifted us, the lessons she has taught, and the love she has shared. Her spirit, a gentle and guiding force, will forever live on in the lives she has touched. In her memory, let us carry forward the torch of compassion and service, illuminating the path for others as she so brightly illuminated ours.
Though we mourn the loss of our dear Cecilia, we rejoice in the knowledge that she has been welcomed into the eternal embrace of our Lord Jesus Christ where she rests in peace and joy everlasting. Amen.
