She married Saturino Ortiz on November 27, 1970, in La Pryor, Texas.
Celia Ortiz is survived by husband, Saturino Ortiz of La Pryor; three sons; Gabriel Ortiz and companion, Cristina Mosqueda of Lytle, Jose Luis Ortiz and wife, Marisela Ortiz of Uvalde, Saturino Jr. Ortiz and wife, Maria Ortiz of La Pryor; two daughters, Lisa Ortiz and companion, Rudy R. Garza of La Pryor, and Julia Ann Ortiz of La Pryor; two sisters, Evangeline Moreno of La Pryor, and Diana Ramos of Colorado; 19 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Celia Ortiz was preceded in death by parents, Gernaro Perez and Francisca Ortiz Perez; siblings, Arturo Perez of La Pryor, Gernaro Jr. Perez of La Pryor, Elias Perez of La Pryor, Guadalupe Casares of Eagle Pass, and Maria Rubio of Uvalde.
Visitation will begin on Friday, April 8, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. followed by a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in La Pryor. Interment will follow at La Pryor Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Noah Castro, Angel Rodriguez, Emilano Ortiz (Honorary), Saturino III Ortiz (Honorary), Dominic James Gose (Honorary), Julian Ortiz, Jose Luis Jr. Ortiz, Israel Moreno, Rudy R. Garza.
