Celia Stephens Pace passed away on September 23, 2025, in Greensboro, North Carolina. Celia was born on April 20, 1952, at Emory Hospital in Atlanta. She received her B.A. and M.A. degrees from Emory University in 1974 and her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Virginia in 1977.
Celia is survived by her husband of 46 years, Tim; her son and daughter-in-law, Drs. Collier and Mary Ellen Pace; her daughter, Cecily Pace; and her grandchildren, Merritt and Channing Pace. She was predeceased by her son, Connor.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on October 2 at Highlands Methodist Church in Highlands, North Carolina. The family will greet friends thirty minutes prior to the service, from 9:30 - 10:00 a.m. at the church. A graveside service will follow at Highlands Memorial Cemetery, with a luncheon afterward at Highlands Country Club.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Key Training Center, 5399 W. Gulf-to-Lake Highway, Lecanto, Florida 34461, or online at https://keytrainingcenter.org/kcf/donate/.
