Charles "Chad" Eric Gray, a beloved son, brother, and friend, departed from this world on February 2, 2024, at the age of 36. Born to Charles and Shirley Gray in Joplin, MO, on June 23, 1987, Chad's life was a testament to his love for farming and the great outdoors. Chad graduated from Neosho High School, Class of 2006, leaving behind a legacy as a dedicated member of the FFA and a proud Crowder Aggie. His passion for farming was more than a profession; it was a way of life. Chad's commitment to his craft was recognized with the prestigious American Farmer Degree, a testament to his dedication and expertise. An adventurer at heart, Chad found joy in the simplicity of life's pleasures-riding 4-wheelers, fishing, and exploring the beauty of the outdoors. Horses held a special place in his heart, reflecting his genuine connection with nature. Cherished by his family, Chad is survived by his father, Charles Gray of Neosho, and his siblings: Ethan Gray, Alisha Gray, and Dustin Baker, and Whitney Stevens and husband Michael, all of Neosho and a bonus sister Sarah Graham and husband Cliff of Anderson. He leaves behind nieces and nephews-Hunter Rakes, Carson Baker, Maddisyn Stevens, Hudson Baker, Roper and Rozyn Graham-who were recipients of his love and affection. Chad's extended family includes aunts and uncles: Steven Drake and wife Debbie, Sharon Winchester and husband Jerry, Karen and Ralph Quinton, David James and wife Melissa, Carl James and wife Cassie, Judy Coker and husband Vincent, and bonus aunt Seretta Fraley. A host of friends and the extended Kruse family also share in the grief. Chad was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Gray, on August 3, 2023.
A memorial service to celebrate Chad's life will be held at Calvary Baptist Church in Neosho on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at 11:00 am. A visitation will precede the service from 9-11 am. During the service, the casket will remain closed. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Chad can be made to the American Diabetes Association, 15455 Conway Rd. Chesterfield, MO 63017, symbolizing his caring spirit and concern for others. As we mourn the loss of Chad, let us remember the laughter, the shared moments, and the love that defined his journey on Earth. May his memory be a source of comfort and strength during this difficult time.

The last time I saw Chad was at his mother's funeral. I asked him if he remembered who I was and instead of an answer he grabbed me in a bear hug and said "Who could forget you?" This was Chad, always making the best out of every situation. I was proud to call him my cousin.
