Chadwick Andrew Geister, known affectionately as Chad, a cherished husband, father, son, brother, friend, passed away at the age of 47 on July 10, 2025, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, after a brave battle with cancer. Born on May 16, 1978, in Bay City, Michigan, to proud parents Gary and Linda (Plummer) Geister, Chad's warm spirit and generous nature were evident from an early age.
A man of deep faith and enduring kindness, Chad was a devoted Christian who walked in love and compassion. He had an innate ability to connect with people, bringing joy and laughter to all who had the pleasure of his company. He earned his psychology degree from The University of Michigan before furthering his studies at the Wisconsin School of Professional Psychology, where he obtained a Master's Degree. This education underscored Chad's commitment to understanding and nurturing the human spirit-a trait that shone brightly throughout his life.
Chad first met Rebecca Shelton while they were both students at the University of Michigan. Their friendship grew and they quickly realized they were made for each other. On June 16, 2001, in Niles, Michigan, Chad married his beloved wife, Rebecca, and together they built a life filled with love and laughter. As a family man, Chad was incomparable. His children, Joe and Rose, were the center of his world. Whether coaching soccer or celebrating their milestones, he was a pillar of strength and support.
Chad's professional journey was as varied as it was impactful. Starting in 2002 at Shelton's Farm Market in Niles, he held various roles that showcased his versatility and dedication. While counseling at Madison Center, Chad touched lives with his empathy and insight before returning to Shelton's in 2008. It was in this community that his compassion and humanity bore fruit, forming strong bonds with customers and co-workers alike. He always said his psychology degree never went to waste!
Chad's interests were a reflection of his vibrant personality. A confident open mic entertainer at the Apple Festival's pancake tent for years, his love for music was profound. He was a skilled guitarist, sharing his musical talents on YouTube, blessing countless listeners with his beautiful voice. In the quieter moments, he loved to read or play video games. In a home built for hosting, he loved to cook and feed people. His home was a hub of warmth and fun, known for good food and board game nights. Chad always said that two of the things that made life worth living were food and music.
Chad's legacy is one of love, laughter, and music. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca, his son, Joe, his daughter, Rose, his parents, Gary and Linda Geister, his brother, Christopher (Brianne) Geister, his many nieces and nephews, and all his numerous friends. Every life he touched is a testament to his generous heart and unwavering spirit.
