In Loving Memory of Charito B. Atienza June 5, 1943 – March 1, 2025
With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Charito B. Atienza, who peacefully departed this life on March 1, 2025, at the age of 81 in Barrington, IL.
Charito was a devoted husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He cherished his family above all else, bringing warmth, laughter, and unwavering love to those around him. He was the beloved husband of Emilyn and a dedicated father to Christian, Marie, Mae, and Charmaine. He was also a loving stepfather to Cherry Ann, Samson, and Cherry Lynn. His grandchildren-Justin, Nathan, Alexis, Audrey, and Micah-brought him immense joy, as did his great granddaughter, Cora.
Charito's easy going nature, bright smile, and infectious laughter made him a cherished companion to many. In his free time, he found happiness in watching his favorite Filipino TV series and playing games on his phone or computer, simple pleasures that brought him relaxation and joy.
He is survived by his loving wife, children, stepchildren, grandchildren, great-granddaughter, and his siblings, Elizabeth Schroeder, Cesar Atienza, and Renato Atienza. He will also be deeply missed by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends.
A funeral service will be held at The Church of Holy Apostles in McHenry, IL, on March 15, 2025. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM, followed by a funeral mass at 10:00 AM. Interment will take place immediately after.
