Charlene Faith Bloom, 87, of Harrisburg, passed away on December 30, 2024, at Capitol Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.
Born on January 1, 1937, in Detroit, Michigan, Charlene was a daughter to the late Max and Leah (Korman) Balk.
Charlene thoroughly enjoyed reading books, especially Nicholas Sparks and Danielle Steel. She also loved to knit and watch TV.
She was a teacher for 20 years, owner of Charlene's Beauty Salon, and owner of Komet in downtown Harrisburg.
Charlene is survived by her son, Phillip Bloom; grandchildren Justin (Jackie) Cornelius and Missy (Anthony) Cornelius; great granddaughter, Chloe; and son in law, John Cornelius. In addition to her parents, Charlene was preceded in death by her loving husband Myer Jack Bloom; daughter, Andrea J. Cornelius; two sisters, Freeda Schweig and Rose Sherman; and a brother, Harry Balk.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at Beth El Chapel, Harrisburg at 11:00 AM with Rabbi Ariana Capptauber officiating. Burial will follow in Beth El Cemetery.
Shiva will be observed at Chisuk Emuna, Harrisburg on Sunday, January 5, 2025, starting at 7:15 P.M.
