Charles Lee Bennett III, 67, of Oak Hill passed away on Monday, January 26, 2026 at CAMC Plateau Medical Center in Oak Hill.
Born June 1, 1958 in Baltimore, Maryland he was the son of the late Charles Lee Bennett II and Reba Wright Callaway.
Charles was a proud united States Army Veteran and after the service he worked in Maintenance for the Park Service since 1998, and in his leisure he enjoyed working on cars, he was a hard worker always working and helping others as he was a man of many talents. His great joy in life was spending time and providing for his family and he especially loved his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by a son, Charles Bennett; and 2 brothers, Steven Bennett and Larry Bennett.
Those left to cherish his wonderful memory include his loving and devoted wife, Rita Miller Bennett; son, Jason Lee Bennett and companion Christina; daughter, Rebecca Hornsby (Terry); 2 grandchildren, Katelynn Meadows and Nathan Meadows; and brother, Elmer Callaway (Jessica).
Funeral service will be 12 Noon on Saturday, January 31, 2026 at Tyree Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Hope with Pastor Kevin Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at Wright Mountain Cemetery on Wright Mountain Road in Packs Branch.
Family will receive friends one hour prior to service at the funeral home in Mount Hope.
