Charles Bugbee Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals - Lavallette on May 23, 2024.
Charles A. Bugbee, 74 of Lavallette, passed from this life on Wednesday, May 22, 2024. Charles was born February 7, 1950 in Suffern, New York to the late Charles and Majorie Bugbee. He was a Great Man, Husband, Father, Vietnam Veteran, a true man's man. Charles was a kind, gentle, and patient soul who was well respected and loved by all who knew him.
Chuck graduated from Suffern High School in 1968 & was well liked among his peers, teachers & coaches. Throughout his high school years he was an all-round great athlete & especially loved wrestling. After graduating he was drafted & served in Vietnam, 101st Airborne Ranger. Shortly after returning from Vietnam, he worked for the Town of Ramapo Highway Dept. Then started his own business, Chuck Bugbee Blacktopping. Keeping the family tradition going for over 50 years. Chuck was a boat shoes, beer drinking, Hawaiian shirt kind of guy who enjoyed the simpler things in life like a hamburger right off the grill at any time of the day. Who was always down for a good time & always had a joke to make you laugh.
He recently retired to the Jersey Shore on the same street his parents would rent when he was a child. It won't be the same without him but with each full moon, sunny, blue skies & gentle wind he will be with us all.
He leaves behind his wife Georgejean; his son's, Chuck Jr.; Casey; daughter, Dorothy and her husband Brian; and his Grand Dog, Duke.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Chuck's honor to Wounded Warriors or Tunnel 2 Towers.
All services will be handled privately by Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals.
" Not fear of death I feel followed by my father's death,
but a feeling of warmth touched by the moonlight.
I felt alive, and the moon reminded me of my own existence.
The night sky is no longer dark and lonely;
the death of a father is no longer sad and emptied
with the full moon rising."

Chuck and I spent much of our high school years together, both on the wrestling team and going out to the soccer club on Friday nights. Always a good time and he was a great guy. So sorry to hear of his passing

To Georgejean and the Bugbee family, sending you all my condolences along with my prayers and deepest sympathies.
I first met Chuck at the start of 8th Grade, in September 1963. We became friends right away and he was always there when I needed him. We had many chats over the years and it was a pleasure to have been a classmate of Chuck in the Class of 1968.
May the Lord hold Chuck in the palms of His hands.
Rest in Peace my friend.
