Charles “Chuck” Franklin George, 78, of Lancaster, OH, passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2025. He was born May 12, 1946 in Canton, OH to the late Kenneth and Betty (Gantz) George.
Charles was a 1964 graduate of Fairless High School in Navarre, OH, and a 1968 graduate of Otterbein College. He married his wife, Brenda (Immel) George on August 9, 1969, and together raised their family in Navarre, where Charles taught junior high and high school for 31 years, 30 of which were spent at Fairless Local Schools. He was a faithful parishioner of Otterbein United Methodist Church in Navarre for nearly 50 years before he and Brenda moved to Lancaster in 2013. They attended Faith Memorial Church and volunteered together at Fairfield Medical Center. Throughout his life, he enjoyed fishing, camping and spending time with his family.
Charles was a devoted and loving father to three sons — Christopher (Amy) George, David (Anissa) George and Grant (Michelle) George – whom he enjoyed coaching in various sports throughout their childhoods. He doted on his seven grandchildren – James, Sarah, Zachary (Katie), Zane (Sarah), Gabriella, Christian and Austin – and was eagerly awaiting the arrival of his first great-grandchild, Juniper Lee, later this month.
Charles is survived by his wife, his children, grandchildren; brother, Dennis (Margaret) George; brothers-in-law, David (Patsy) Immel and Steve (Linda) Immel as well as nieces and a nephew. Charles is preceded in death by his parents, his father-in-law Robert Immel and his mother-in-law Ruth Immel.
