Mr. Charles Avery Cook, widower of Pamela Dawn Cook, 64, of Lancaster passed away Saturday, August 30, 2025, at MUSC- Lancaster. He was born on September 7, 1960, in Gastonia, NC, and he was the son of the late Clayton and Minnie Cook.
Mr. Cook was number one in his high school class for body and fender work; he went on to own Cook's Body Shop. He loved working on cars, spending time with his grandkids, fishing and the outdoors as well as hunting and golf. Mr. Cook loved searching for old coins with his metal detector.
A gathering to celebrate the life of Mr. Cook will be held Friday, September 5, 2025, from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at Lancaster Funeral Home.
Mr. Cook is survived by a son, Avery (Julia) Cook of Lancaster; a twin sister, Cheryl (Wade) Blanks and a sister, Lynn Baker, both of Lancaster; and two grandchildren, Cayden and Alaina Cook. He was preceded in death by a son, Matthew Brett Cook, a sister, Sandra Cook and his companion, Micki Parker.
