Charles Edward Corbin, II, 79, passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at his residence and surrounded by his family.
He was born in Jacksonville on August 2, 1942 and son of the late Charles Edward Corbin and Pearlie Irene Wiggins Corbin. Graduated from Andrew Jackson High School in 1960 and married the love of his life, Nancy Cowart on December 31, 1960. He began his career with the Jacksonville Fire Department and retired on June 6, 1995, serving 30 years. Charlie was infamous for his cooking on his shifts and nicknamed Deluxe and was a very humble man. An active member at North Jacksonville Baptist Church until his health declined. Some of his passions were traveling, spending time with family and cooking bar-b-que. Owned and operated Corbin's Paint and Body for more than 50 years.
Preceded in death by his parents and sister, Laverne Thrower.
Surviving family include his wife of 61 years, Nancy Corbin; 3 daughters: Angie Pittman (Todd), Tami Gressman (Marcus) and Crystal Miller (Will); 6 grandchildren: Chandler Pittman, Victoria Stoshak (Jenson), Garrett Miller, Katelyn Miller, Corbin Gressman and Preston Pittman; 3 sisters: Jeanie DeFee (Dan), Patsy Larsen and Linda Golden; sister-in-love: Joyce (Cowart) Chevalier; brother-in-love: Lloyd Palmer and a host of friends.
Celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 24, 2022 at North Jacksonville Baptist Church, 8531 N. Main Street, with Rev. Wilford McCormick, officiating. Honors will be conferred by the Jacksonville Fire & Rescue Department Honor Team.
Graveside burial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday at Arlington Park Cemetery.
Charlie will remain forever in our hearts.
