Charles G. "Chuck" Downs, 78, of Chillicothe, passed away at his home, on Saturday morning, September 3, 2022. He was born on Tuesday, March 7, 1944 in Springfield, Ohio the son of the late Charles W. and Florence Horn Downs. On March 29, 1966 he married the former Nancy Colburn, and she survives.
Also surviving are his two sons, Charles Grant (Jillane) Downs II of Pataskala, Jeffery S. (Rachel) Downs of Chillicothe, five grandsons, Zachary S., Grant, Matthew, Jonathan, and Zeb Downs, two great-grandchildren, Zane and Max Downs, one brother, Tim Downs of Texas. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Rosie and Georgia.
Charles worked as a machine operator and EMT at Chilpaco, Chillicothe. He was also an advanced EMT and firefighter for Scioto Township for over fifteen years. He was a member of the Chillicothe First Assembly. Chuck loved wood working, mechanic work, and family time camping. Together with his wife Nancy, he was a foster parent in the Ross County area.
A funeral service for Charles will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2022, at 1p.m. in the EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort, with Pastor Shaun Howard officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort. Friends can visit with Charles' family from 11a.m. until the time of service. Memorial donations in Chuck's name can be made to Chillicothe First Assembly, 2580 Western Ave, Chillicothe, OH 45601.
