Charles Philip "Chuck" Eastman, age 77, of Methuen, formerly of Chelmsford and Medford, passed away at Lawrence General Hospital on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, following a hard-fought battle with multiple sclerosis.
Born in Medford on April 22, 1948, he was the son of the late Edward A. Eastman and the late Anastasia (Donohoe) Eastman.
Charles graduated from Medford High School and went on to attend Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston.
In 1968, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served during the Vietnam War in the Infantry Division. He was awarded several decorations for his active-duty service including the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Army Commendation Medal and the Air Medal.
Prior to his illness, he worked as a mortgage writer in the financial lending industry.
Chuck enjoyed many activities including riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle, hiking, restoring and collecting Corvette automobiles and traveling to Alaska where he tried his hand at panning for gold.
He is the brother of, Richard T. "Dick" Eastman and his wife Kathleen, of Tewksbury, and the late Edward A. Eastman, Jr. and his surviving wife Eleanor, of Chelmsford. He leaves many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, July 18, from 9-11 a.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee Street, Tewksbury, followed by a procession to Tewksbury Cemetery, where graveside prayers, military honors and interment of his ashes will take place.
