Tim, aka "Pops", was a truly kind and loving human. He touched the lives of so many through his work at First Step Farm. Tim is one of the first people I met when I came to Asheville nearly 10 years ago, the words of wisdom he shared with me then still resonates with me today and will continue to help me for the rest of my life. Rest easy friend.

I met Tim "Tater" Engle on April 5th, 2005. The name "Tater" came later on, but he played a big role in me staying at First Step Farm. I've never met a more down to earth, keep you rolling on the floor laughing, man in all my travels. He was a great friend, a good man, and an excellent example of a human being. I wish more were like "Tater Dude", he will be missed, and he left me with great memories. Rest in Peace my brother.
