Charles Edward "Fish" Fishburne

Charles Edward Fishburne, age 85 of Waco, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 3, 2023. Born in College Park, GA, on March 14, 1937, he was the son of the late Charles Carroll Fishburne and the late Katherine Boggs Fishburne. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sonja Fishburne, a son, Johnny Fishburne; and two brothers, Mickey and Donnie Fishburne.
Fish, as he was affectionately known, was a graduate of College Park High School. He worked for many years as a maintenance crew chief with Northwest Airlines which eventually became Delta Airlines. An avid outdoorsman, Fish loved to hunt, fish, and sit on the porch and "shoot the breeze." As his name implies, he had many "Fish Tales." He loved his family dearly and they will miss his porch talks.
Survivors include his three daughters, Robi and her husband Tracy Mobley of Ranburne, Susan Young of Heflin, and Rebekah and her husband Shane Brock of Carrollton; three sons, Walter Fishburne, Adam Fishburne, and Joe and his wife Ashtonya Fishburne, all of Waco; two sisters, Kathy and husband Richard Spall of Jupiter, FL, and Trudy Goodman of Paragould, AR; and three brothers, Earl Fishburne of Douglasville, Gordy and wife Lou Fishburne of Dawsonville, and Jeff and wife Pat Fishburne of Newnan,. Also surviving are ten precious grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Funeral services for Charles "Fish" Fishburne will be conducted Thursday, January 5, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. from Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel with Pastor John Butler officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Eric Blaskowski, Dylan Janney, Connor Barnes, Warren Sarrell, Eric Weaver, Micah Brock, Alan Rodriguez, and Jesse Brown
The family will receive friends on Thursday at Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel from Noon until the funeral hour.
