One day your life will flash before your eyes, make sure it's worth watching. - Gerald Way
While attending Allendale Columbia school, Chip formed friendships that would last a lifetime. The gang of five - Gus, Arty, Dave, Alan, and Chip are the friends that Chip grew up with and held close to his heart. At Allendale, Chip's art teacher encouraged his artistic abilities. While attending culinary school in Texas, these creative talents showed up in his cooking and baking. As much as he enjoyed baking, he loved his Little Debbie cherry cordial cookie cakes! And, how he loved to barbecue! Some of you will remember those Cobbs Hill barbecues hosted by Chip.
Chip had a tender heart for dogs. While growing up, he loved our dachshund, Toby and later, dachshunds, Max and Scooter. He also loved his first hamster, "Ms. Hammy" and brought home all kinds of carnival goldfish.
Chip's dad passed away in 2020 and Chip missed him terribly. A few months ago, Chip wrote, "I miss you and love you every day, Dad thank you for watching over me you were the best dad and the greatest character I knew in life."
Chip had a unique understanding of life, from laughing out loud at Shel Silverstein's poetry to quoting theologian Howard Thurman. He was a proud descendent of JJ Bausch, founder of Bausch and Lomb. Chip died two months before his forty-first birthday but continues to live on in others. He extended the gift of life through the Rochester organ donation program.
Chip was predeceased by his father, Tom; infant sister, Elizabeth, Grandmother and Grandfather Forsyth; Grandma and Grandpa Jones; uncles, Fred Martino and Gene Vick; and cousins, John Knight and Lisa Fox. He is survived by friend, Stephanie Millard; mother, Sue; aunt, Lynn; brother, Ted; sister-in-law, Ali Fernaays; niece, Morgan; cousins, Abby and Carl Martino; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held on May 17th at 11:00 am at the United Church of Bristol, 7177 County Rd 2, Bloomfield, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Finger Lakes Donor Recovery, 30 Corporate Woods #220, Rochester, NY 14623 or Planned Parenthood, 114 University Ave, Rochester, 14605. Love you, Chip your spirit is free!
