Charles Edward "Chuck" Gobin

Charles "Chuck" Edward Gobin, 65, devoted husband of Melissa Bowman and and father of Joseph, Amy, fiancè Jamey Carlisle, Joshua, and Lauryn Bowman, entered into the arms of his Lord and Savior on Wednesday Nov. 20, 2024. Chuck was a native of Kenton, Ohio, born Sept. 26, 1959 to Jane Nicodemus Gobin and the late Don Gobin, being one of their 3 children. He was a professor at Asbury University, where he taught English Literature and Composition, served as Department Chair, and was the Associate Dean for 30 years. Chuck was a member of of the Church of Resurrection Episcopal Church, and loved camping, reading, working in the yard and spending time with his family, whom he loved so much. In addition to his wife and children, he leaves to cherish his memory his mother Jane Gobin, mother-in-law Barbara Bowman, brother Scott Gobin, wife Jackie, sister Nancy Goll, husband Don, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and extended family members. Most of all, he will be missed by his beloved dogs: Golden Setter Molly and Shitzu Butch, whom he loved dearly. A Remembrance Service will be held 1:00 PM on Dec. 14, at the Church of Resurrection Episcopal Church, 3220 Lexington Road, Nicholasville, KY with Rev. Doctor Jan Cottrell, John Roller and Bobby Gross officiating. The family will greet friends at a reception following the service. Chuck's family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations in his memory be made to UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief). "Wherever a beautiful soul has been, there is a trail of beautiful memories." Arrangements are under the direction of Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home, and we would like to express our deepest sympathy to the Gobin family and friends.
