Charles Edward Goforth, 80, of Marion, passed away Saturday, September 20, 2025 at the CarePartners Hospice Solace Center after a brief illness.
He was born in Madison County on May 11, 1945 to the late Hubert Pinkney Goforth and Evia Adaline Walker Goforth.
Charles formerly worked as a bus driver for his family’s business. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Charles enjoyed simple pleasures including gardening, shooting guns, hunting birds, and enjoying a good cup of coffee. He loved music and taking care of horses as well. Above all, Charles looked out for others, especially his own family. He was always ready and willing to help those in need.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Louis Payne (Janice), Woodrow Goforth, Dennis Goforth, and Lonnie “Bill” Goforth, Sr.
He is survived by three sisters-in-law, Christine Goforth, Brenda Green, and Kay Goforth, and several nieces and nephews.
In accordance with his wishes, no services are planned.
