Charles "Hoss" Harris, 63, of Sizerock, Kentucky, departed this life on March 21, 2025 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. Charles was born on December 22, 1961 to the late William and Bessie Sawyer Harris in Laurel County. He was a retired coal miner. He loved spending time with family, four wheeler riding, coal mining, and car cruises. Charles especially liked talking about classic cars and showing his family how to work on them, even at young ages. He enjoyed car shows as well as taking trips to Tennessee. Classic cars and his days as a coal miner were among favorite topics of discussion. Charles was also a member of Burning Springs Church of God in Manchester, KY, where his son, Reverend James Bryant serves as pastor.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, William Harris and Bessie Sawyer Harris. and siblings Benny Ray Harris and David Wayne Harris.
Charles is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 46 years, Mary Gail Harris, son, Reverend James Bryant Harris (Misty) of Hyden, KY, brothers, William Harris Jr., (Patricia) of Middleboro, KY and Roger Harris (Glenda) of Hyden, KY, sisters, Brenda Lawson (Tony) of Middlesboro, KY, Norma Jean Harris of Hyden, KY, and Marie Woods of Sizerock, KY, grandchildren, Olivia Harris, Quentin Woods, and Charity Harris, great nephews, Hunter and Cash, whom he was a baby-sitter and they lovingly referred to as "Pap". He is also survived by a host of other cherished family and friends.
