Charles L. "Charlie" Haynes, Jr., 71, passed away on March 1, 2025, at the Bailey Center for Caring. A lifelong resident of St. Augustine, Charlie was born to the late Charles L. and Wanda Haynes.
Charlie was known for his love of life and his ability to always enjoy a good time. He dedicated many years of service as a restaurant manager for the White family at O.C. Whites, where he built lasting relationships and shared his vibrant spirit with all who crossed his path. An avid fisherman, Charlie spent countless hours outdoors, embracing the peace and joy that the waters brought him.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 20 years, Donna McQuaig, of St. Augustine; sons, John Ready and Sam Kesl (Donna); daughter, Joan-Lorie Turlington (Wes), all of St. Augustine; his sister, Mary Wanda Borum of St. Augustine; brothers, Rudy Haynes (Jackie) of St. Augustine, Ralph Haynes (Judy) of Palm Coast; granddaughters, Haylee Hartley (Brandon) and Sarah Turlington; great-grandchildren, Trent and Trace Hartley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved brothers, Buddy, Tony, and Pat Haynes.
A celebration of Charlie's life will be announced at a later date.
He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
