Charles "Chuck" Joseph Hiler Jr., born June 1, 1944 at the Harrisburg Hospital, son of the late Dorothy and Charles Hiler of Camp Hill PA., passed away at Milford Hospice Center in Delaware on September 9, 2025.
Chuck attended Good Shepherd Catholic School and graduated in 1962 from Bishop McDevitt High School. After high school he attended Harrisburg Area Community College, Villanova University and served 6 years in the U.S. Army.
Throughout his life he was employed as a manager with Sears, J.C. Penny, Montgomery Ward, Roses and Lowes.
Chuck also participated in the Milford & Dover Chamber of Commerce, United Way, and Better Business Bureau.
He was a member of the Delaware Fraternal Order of Police and the Milford Delaware Senior Police. Graduate of the Dover, Delaware Citizens Police Academy. Worked with the Delaware State Police Canine Unit & the Sussex County Search & Rescue Unit. He had also been with the Kent County Sheriff's Department as well as working with the Bucks County Constables & Canine Unit.
He was a member of Knights of Columbus, V.F.W., American Legion, Elks, Moose, Potter County Hunter & Anglers and Delaware Law Dogs Motorcycle Club.
Chuck had resided in Milford, Delaware for the past 45 years. He will be missed by many.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. in the Resurrection Cemetery, 116 South Oak Grove Road, Harrisburg, PA 17112.
