Charles Edward Hunt

Charles Edward Hunt, 76 of Louisville passed away on Monday, December 4, 2023, at Norton Audubon Hospital with his family by his side.
Charles was a retired carpenter, with his job in construction, he traveled frequently and was able to visit nearly every state in the US. He attended Eastern Kentucky University where he studied art, he had a deep appreciation for the beauties of art, nature, and interpretation. He utilized his own artist ability to design floral arrangements, his creativity and attention to detail were impeccable. Charles enjoyed weekly visits with his daughter and family, he would proudly recount his glory days playing football at Male High School, where he and his teammates brought home the 1964 State Championship. Charles was a bit of a loner, he preferred the simple life, he was content with his beloved dog Brutus faithfully at his side.
He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Helen Hunt, along with his siblings Jo Ann and Jimmy Hunt.
Charles is survived by his children Brian Hunt and Christina Ray (Lonny) both of Shepherdsville; sister Claudia Gordon of Louisville; along with his grandchildren Trent Meredith, Nolan Hunt, Makayla Gardner, Leah Gardner, and Levi Gardner.
Funeral Service will be 12:30 p.m. Friday, December 8, 2023, at Maraman Billings Funeral Home with Rev. Jason Walls officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday, December 7, 2023, from 5:30 -8 p.m. Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
