Charles Albert Johnson, of Rolla, MO, passed away Saturday, March 8, 2025, at the age of 90.
He was born on September 9, 1934, in Turrell, AR to the late Albert Sidney and Rosenell (Thresher) Johnson. On June 25, 1977, he married Edith Alberta (King) Johnson in Doolittle, MO.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his daughter Laura Ellison, stepson Ted Ousley, two brothers, David Johnson and Ronnie Johnson, two sisters, Melba Brown and Nelda Ward.
Charles, a proud United States Marine Veteran, was surrounded by loved ones throughout his life. He was a man of many passions, enjoying woodworking, reading, fishing, and hunting. Charles had a unique gift for storytelling, always captivating those around him with tales from his life and adventures. A natural problem-solver, he found joy in figuring out numbers and challenges, always approaching them with a curious mind and sharp intellect. His dedication, kindness, and sense of humor will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Charles will be greatly missed by his surviving family which includes: his wife, Edith Johnson of Rolla, MO; his son, Chuck Johnson and wife Linda of Lenexa, KS; his daughter, Mary Jane Branam of Lilbourn, MO; stepson, Dennis Ousley and Anna of Rolla, MO; stepdaughter, Teresa Woody of Raytown, MO; five brothers, Bill Johnson and wife Teresa of Eufaula, OK, Rick Johnson and wife Bobbie of Lake Village, AR, Donnie Johnson of Poplar Bluff, MO, Arles Johnson of Risco, MO, Pat Johnson of Parma, MO; three sisters, Wilma Pacy of Ste. Genevieve, MO, Alma Hoover of Fulton, MO, Linda Johnson of Dexter, MO; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, brothers and sisters in laws, cousins and many other family and friends.
A funeral service for Charles A. Johnson will be conducted at 12 p.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at the Null and Son Funeral Home in Rolla. Interment will follow at the Pea Ridge Cemetery in Doolittle, MO. A visitation for family and friends will be held prior to the service beginning at 11 a.m.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the perpetual care fund for the Pea Ridge Cemetery.
