Ed was born on November 20, 1937 in Colorado City, Texas to C.L. and Mildred Joyce. He attended Snyder high school where he excelled at football. He later continued his football career while attending Colorado School of Mines. Ed had a 27 year career with Schlumberger where he made life long friendships.
Ed enjoyed hunting, reloading and flying as well as his two beloved dogs Chester and Harper. He obtained his private pilot's license in 1977 and loved to fly his friends and family around Texas for any reason they could come up with.
Ed is survived by his wife of 67 years Patricia Grace Joyce, his son Scott Joyce and his wife Malayne of Andrews, Texas. His daughter Cindy Shapka and her husband Brian of Snow Lake, Manitoba, Canada. Grandchildren Jennifer Galindo and her husband Stephan, Jeff Joyce and his wife Payten, Brittany Ventura, Katie Leifso and her husband Neil. Great grandchildren are Rafe and Braxton Joyce and Ainslee and Aiden Galindo.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents C.L. and Mildred Joyce, his father and mother-in-law Tom and Sarah Grace and his great grandson Brantley Joyce.
