It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Charles Kerruish, who left us on June 5 at
the age of 85. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, Charles
leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and humor that will be forever cherished by those
who knew him.
Born on September 18, 1939 in Detroit, Charles grew up with a passion for knowledge, boating,
and adventure. He spent 63 wonderful years with his beloved wife, Nancy, who was not only his
partner but also his best friend. Together, they built a warm and loving home filled with laughter,
support, and many cherished memories.
As a proud father, Charles took great joy in his children, Heather and Steve. He was a constant
source of encouragement and wisdom, always eager to guide and support them as they
navigated life's challenges. His enduring gift of love and guidance will forever live in our
hearts.
Charles dedicated much of his professional life to Ford, where he was known for his innovative
thinking and integrity. Throughout his professional life, he was not only a mentor to many but
also, a leader who inspired those around him to strive for excellence.
Beyond his career, Charles enjoyed sharing stories, gardening, and spending time with his
family at the lake. A day rarely passed without him driving his green lawn tractor around to work
on various landscaping projects. Most recently, his favorite activity was helping his son-in-law,
Mike, build a catamaran by offering a keen eye and helpful advice. His sense of humor, keen
intellect and friendly spirit created an atmosphere of warmth wherever he went.
Charles is survived by his devoted wife Nancy; his loving daughter, Heather (Mike); his devoted
son, Steve; his grandchildren, Erin (Jose) and John (Katelyn); and his new great granddaughter
Charlotte. He leaves behind a legacy of love and strength that will continue to inspire all who
knew him.
A funeral service to celebrate Charles's life will be held on June 14th at 11:00 am at St,
George's Episcopal Church at 801 E. Commerce Street in Milford, Michigan with a luncheon
immediately following the service. Family and friends are invited to share their memories and
pay tribute to a truly remarkable man. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be
made to St. George's Episcopal Church (www.stgeorgesmilford.org/gift), honoring Charles's
lifelong commitment to helping others.
Charles will be dearly missed, but his spirit and love will live on in the hearts of all who were
fortunate enough to know him. May he rest in peace.
