Charles Robert Kretzer, Sr., 66, of Smithsburg, MD, passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at his home, surrounded by loving family.
Born on May 20, 1958, in Dargen, MD, he was the son of the late Betty Jane (Sine) and Charles Franklin Kretzer.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his Twin Brother, Frank Kretzer; Half Brothers, Larry Kretzer and Ricky Kretzer; and Half Sisters, Theresa Tate; Linda Lewis.
Charlie graduated from Boonsboro High School, class of 1976.
Charlie worked as a Corrections Officer at MCI-Hagerstown, where he retired in 2014 after 23 years of service.
Charlie was a muscle car enthusiast and loved his Jack Russells Eddie and Rebel.
He is survived by his daughter, Heather Lapole of Sharpsburg, MD; Son, Charles Kretzer, Jr. and wife, Olivia of Hedgesville, WV; Grandchildren, Steven, Matthew, Bradley and Ayla; Girlfriend of 20 years, Loretta Barthlow; Half Brother, Eugene Kretzer; Half Sister, Marlene Barger; and numerous Nieces and Nephews.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Hospice of Washington County, 1710 Underpass Way, Suite 300 Hagerstown, MD 21740.
Arrangements were made with J.L. Davis Funeral home, Smithsburg, MD, and online condolences can be offered at www.jldavisfh.com.
