Charles Edward "Ed" LaBorde

October 22, 1932 – October 26, 2025

Ed LaBorde, a lifelong resident of Metairie, Louisiana, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on October 26, at the age of 93. Born in Avoyelles Parish, he was the beloved youngest son of the late Claude Joseph LaBorde and Sybil Chatelain LaBorde. He was also predeceased by his brothers, Jesse and Hubert LaBorde.

Ed shared 70 remarkable years of marriage with his devoted wife, Elsie Bernhard LaBorde. Together, they built a loving family and shared a lifetime of memories. He is survived by Elsie, their children, Suzanne LaBorde Scott (Bobby) and Michael LaBorde; grandchildren Gabrielle Brassfield (Shann), Alexandra LaBorde (Jeremy), Andrew and Emily Scott; and great-granddaughter Austyn.

After retiring from the New Orleans Public Belt Railroad, Ed became the owner of Standard Glass and Mirror Works, a testament to his hard work and entrepreneurial spirit. Ed enjoyed spending time with his family and had a lifelong love of fishing.

Ed will be remembered for his steadfast devotion to family, his quiet spirit, and his faith. His legacy of love, hard work, and kindness will live on through generations of his family.

Family and friends are invited to visitation on October 30, 2025, at 2:00 PM, with a Mass to follow at 3:00 PM, at Saint Francis Xavier Church, 444 Metairie Road, Metairie, Louisiana.
