It is with a heavy heart that we announce the death of Charles "Chuck" Edward McFarland. Born on December 22, 1946 in Trinity, TX to James and Hazel McFarland, he was one of ten children. As a kid, he grew up working cattle, hunting and bailing hay with his brothers and his father. He later served in the Navy and he was stationed at Cuba. He went on to be a conductor for the Missouri Pacific and Union Pacific railroads for 26 years. He married Patricia "Pat" Jones and settled in Manvel, TX with his wife and son. He went on to retire from the railroad and started a new passion for classic cars and bailing hay full time. Later in life, he met his last love, Sandra "Sam" Dennison, who cared for him in his last days. He passed surrounded by family at his home in Manvel, TX. He will be remembered for always willing to help anyone at any time, and expected nothing in return, and his love and loyalty to his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents James and Hazel McFarland, his brothers Harley, Jim, Paul, Frank, and Jerry, and his sisters Mary, and Sadie. He is also preceded in death by his wife Patricia "Pat" McFarland. He is survived by his son Chad McFarland, his sisters Lennie McFarland and Jewell Redden and brother-in-law Jerry Redden, and his companion/partner Sandra "Sam" Dennison. He is also survived by many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. A celebration of life will take place at Alvin Missionary Baptist church (2102 W. Lang St., Alvin, TX 77511) on Saturday, February 8th with a viewing scheduled at 9am and the service to begin at 10am. The official pallbearers will be Daniel Walker, Gus Poindexter, Joel Hendricks, Marcus Holmes, C.J. Dennison, and Chad Dennison.
Rest in peace, Chuck. Your legacy of love, laughter, and loyalty will live on in the hearts of those who knew you best.
