It is with heavy, deep sorrow, that we announce the passing of Charles Albert Moeller, Jr., age 79, known to many simply as "Skip".

Skip passed away on December 30, 2025, at Christus Spohn Shoreline Hospital with his wife Ruth by his side. He was born on April 29, 1946, in San Antonio, Texas, and was raised in Corpus Christi, Texas where he spent much of his life. He was the son of the late Charles Albert Moeller, Sr. and Nina Louise Junken Moeller.

He graduated from Carroll High School in 1961. He enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served his country for 3 terms from 1965-1968. He attained the rank of Private (PVT), pay grade E-1, and served as a Combat Engineer (MOS 12C20). During his military service, he earned numerous honors and decorations, including the Vietnam Service Medal with three Bronze Service Stars, the National Defense Service Medal, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Parachutist Badge, and the Expert Marksmanship Qualification Badge (Rifle). He completed his training at the U.S. Army Training Center for Engineers (Pioneer) and served with the 1st Infantry Division and the 1st Cavalry Division. He completed his tour of duty in Vietnam and was honorably discharged as a wounded Vietnam veteran, having served his country with courage and devotion. His military service remained a defining and formative chapter of his life.

Skip was a man of many talents who found joy in fishing and was an expert mechanic, known for his ability to listen to an engine and quickly diagnose the problem. He could fix or master just about anything you put in front of him- whether it was electrical work, plumbing, or fencing. Skip was also a diehard fan of his Dallas Cowboys team.

Skip worked for MC Welding and Fabrication for 16 years under the supervision of owner Albert Carrales and his son Erick. He took great pride in his work ethic and doing things the right way, as well as his unwavering loyalty to the company, his supervisors, and fellow coworkers. Due to his disabilities, Skip had to retire sooner than he wanted to. Although this was difficult for him, he began to enjoy his retirement, and a lot of honey-do's when he wanted.

Skip was a skilled welder, fitter, and mechanic, and worked in a variety of fields during his lifetime. Despite many health challenges, Skip remained resilient, independent, and grateful. He found joy in the little things- his strong, quiet spirit was simply who he was. He was a good man; family and friends relied on his insight and trusted his judgement. Skip was always present for, and often the heart of our most cherished memories. He will be deeply missed by his wife, family, and friends. Robert and Anita Barrera were instrumental and devoted friends to Skip and Ruth, always offering their support during this very difficult time, as well as every milestone of Skip's life and passing. I will forever be indebted and grateful to them.

Skip is preceded in death by his parents Charles A. Moeller, Sr. and Nina Louise Moeller, and his brother Donald Moeller.

He is survived by his beloved wife Ruth of 35 years- Skip was the love of her life. He is also survived by his daughters Misty and Kristi, grandchildren, and stepchildren whom Skip helped raise. He had a special bond with his stepson Nathan Anthony DeBoard, whom he was very proud of and loved dearly. He is also survived by his stepdaughters Allison Irene DeBoard, and Zandra Irene DeBoard-Horton.

A celebration honoring Skip's life will be scheduled at a later date, with details to be announced.
