Charles Daniel O'Donnell (Chuck) died on June 23, 2025, at the age of 64, after fighting a heroic battle with cancer. Chuck was born on May 20, 1961 and grew up in Hyattsville, Maryland, where he attended Ager Road Elementary School, Nicholas Orem Middle School and Northwestern High School. He was the fifth child of Edward James O'Donnell and Margaret Corinne Clark O'Donnell, of Northeast Washington, D.C. He was welcomed into the family by his four older siblings and helped welcome three more. He attended St. Jerome's Catholic Church, in Hyattsville, Maryland and served as an altar boy. Chuck grew up with many friends and they enjoyed riding bikes and skate boards, and building ramps for their daredevil stunts. He was also a member of the Hya ttsville Volunteer Fire Department Majorettes and Drum Corp and enjoyed marching in the frequent parades.

He married Sherry Lynne Mackavage on September 26, 1992 and they had two daughters: Caitlyn Corinne and Megan Marie. After the girls were born, they moved from Harper's Ferry to Crofton and finally settled on the Eastern Shore, in Queen Anne's County, Maryland where the girls were raised. Chuck enjoyed the laid-back life of the Eastern Shore and golfing, fishing, walking, and exploring. Chuck was employed by Power Services, Inc, for 26 years, and was a retired member of IBEW, Local Union26.

Chuck is survived by his wife: Sherry O'Donnell and their daughters: Megan Marie O'Donnell (Timothy Kilmon) and Caitlyn Corrine O'Donnell, and grandchildren: Holly Mae O'Donnell, Olivia Grace Kilmon, and Wyatt Daniel Kilmon. Also surviving are his siblings: Carol O'Donnell Simmons (Robert), Barbara O'Donnell Combetti (Thomas), Patricia O'Donnell Goforth (Donald), Edward J, O'Donnell, Jr. (Dorothy), Patrick D. O'Donnell (Barbara), Kenneth W. O'Donnell, and Sharon A. O'Donnell (Franklin Hodo). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Chuck's last wishes were to have his ashes spread in the Shenandoah Mountains, near where they lived. The family is making these arrangements. There will be a private gathering, with family and friends, to celebrate his life.

Contributions can be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake, who were an enormous help in taking care of him in his final days. Hospicechesapeake.org/giving or Hospice of the Chesapeake, 90 Ritchie Highway, Pasadena, Maryland 21122
