Conway
Sunday, January 26, 2025, is a day that will forever be etched in our minds and hearts. On this day we experienced the tragic and unexpected loss of Charles; our son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, neighbor, classmate, and a friend to everyone he met.
Charles William Purvis, age 34, was born in Conway, a son of William Carl Purvis, Jr. and Nancy Elaine Allen Purvis. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, WC and Willa Mae Purvis and his maternal grandparents, Francis and Opal Allen.
Surviving in addition to his parents are a sister, Mary McKellar Purvis Hunsucker and her husband, Colby; two nieces Carly Mae and Sadie Elaine Hunsucker. He is also survived by two aunts: Linda Stevens (Delan) and Lynn Purvis; one uncle, Bennie Allen (Donna); and six first cousins: Lucas Williams (Kristen), Morgan Williams (Charlie), Forrest Lewis, Scarlett Lewis, Sarah Hilts (Andrew) and Katie Peter (Michael).
He was a member of First United Methodist Church and a 2009 graduate of Carolina Forest High School. Charles was the owner and operator of CWP Services, LLC and was employed by Waccamaw Prosthetics and Orthotics.
He loved and enjoyed what he did and took pride in everything. He preferred the simple life, loving to fix just about anything. He was a young man with many plans and projects, always dreaming of his next overhaul. Charles beat to his own tune, never stressing over trying to make an impression, yet walking through life making a lasting impression on all those he met on his brief yet powerful journey. His love for his family and friends was deep and genuine, as well as for anyone he met. His true passions were fishing, hunting, everything outdoors, and helping others.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 30th at First United Methodist Church, Conway, led by Rev. Kyle Randall. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. in the church Commons Area. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the charity of your choice.
