Obituary: CJ McFadden
Charles Joseph McFadden, affectionately known as "CJ," passed away Saturday, October 19th, at the age of 19 years old, at the Medical University of South Carolina. He leaves behind a legacy of love, fun and kindness. CJ, was the son of Molly McFadden and the late Jason Turner.
CJ was born in Georgetown, South Carolina on April 12, 2005. Most of CJ's life was spent in the Conway/Myrtle Beach areas. He was a graduate of Carolina Forest High School and attended Grand Strand Baptist Church.
CJ's life was characterized by having a loving spirit and a fun, adventurous nature. He was a master of computer games and made friends all over the world playing games and winning them. He was always willing to take the time to help a fellow gamer and gave tutorials to new players. CJ even explained the world of Anime to his mother and spent many hours with her, enjoying the play and the storylines together.
CJ had an amazing soul and touched people whenever he met them. He had a heart of gold and a joyous laughter that was infectious. His sense of humor and brilliant wit brought lots of laughter to whoever was blessed to be a part of it.
Even though CJ was only 19, his life and everything he overcame is a testimony of what God can do. God performed miracles throughout CJ's life, including a heart transplant that gave him a full life.
CJ is the grandson of the late Albert and Bobbie (McFadden) French and the late Ricky McFadden, and the great-grandson of the late Joseph and Bobbie Sue Whitmire.
Left to cherish his memory, along with his mother is his sister Lauren McFadden, nephew, Kashtyn McFadden, niece, Kali Sassaman, special dog Princess, as well as his "adopted" aunt, Renee Stanley Wikstrom.
He will be truly missed by so many. The family expresses heartfelt gratitude to all the caregivers who provided support during this challenging time, especially the nurses and doctors at MUSC and the Make A Wish Foundation.
A Celebration Visitation will be held on November 6, 2024, 5-7 pm at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway location.
