)Mr. Charles L. Reames, 89, of Graniteville, SC, beloved husband of sixty-eight years to Sylvia Annette "Ann" Wood Reames, entered into rest on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, in the comfort of his home.
A lifelong area resident, he was son of the late Fred O. and Lena Redd Reames. Following his graduation from LBC High School in 1953, he attended the University of South Carolina and majored in pharmacy. He was the former owner and operator of Langley Drug for many years. After the sale of the pharmacy, he dabbled in insurance sales and real estate. He was a former member of the Midland Valley Lions Club and served on the Aiken County Area 3 School Board. Charles was of the Baptist faith and attended North Augusta First Baptist Church until his health declined. He took pleasure in spending time in his study engrossed in his Bible, along with various Bible devotionals present on his study shelves. He enjoyed electronics, computers, and photography. Charles was an avid Gamecock fan, and member of the Gamecock Club, but he also yelled "Roll Tide" for his wife Ann.
In addition to his wife and parents, family members include his siblings, Freddie (Brenda) Reames, Carolyn (Jimmy) Hardy, and the late Mayrant Reames. Children and their spouses include Sherri (Ray) Griffin, Randy (Shelia) Reames, Jeffrey (Suzanne) Reames, and Lisa (Dewey) Sanders. Grandchildren and their spouses, Lesli Bolick, Daniel (Rachel) Griffin, Jessica (Nathan) Luke, Jana (Josh) Weathers, Dylan Boyette, the late Josh Reames, and seven great-grandchildren.
The family will greet friends on Saturday, June 8, 2024, beginning at 11 o'clock at Hatcher Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3464 Jefferson Davis Highway, Graniteville, SC. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at noon in the chapel of Hatcher Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Pastor Charles Wilson will officiate. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Graniteville, SC. Pallbearers will be Daniel Griffin, Dylan Boyette, Brayden Reames, Dewey Sanders, Keith Hardy and Barry Hardy.
The family would like to thank Trinity Hospice of Aiken, and specifically Jasmine and Tara for their support given to Charles during his last days.
Memorials in memory of Charles may be made to the Moody Bible Institute which he faithfully supported.
