Charles Elliott Rushing, 88, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away to be with the Lord on Sunday morning, March 1, 2026, in Granbury, Texas.

Funeral services celebrating Charles' life will be on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Waterview the Point Independent Living Center located at 100 Watermark Blvd in Granbury, Texas.

Charles was born on February 8, 1938, in Homer, Louisiana, to the late Colon and Vera Rushing. In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Rushing. On June 7, 2025, Charles married Patrica Walker.

Charles was an avid outdoorsman with an incredible adventuresome spirit who loved to hunt, fish and travel. He had a successful career making top salesman multiple years for Carboline, an industrial coatings company, and Champion Boats for many years. He loved his family and friends and enjoyed spending time with everyone. Charles never met a stranger and had a way of commanding the room. He was a man of many talents, including hunting and fishing; even topping all competition at the State Indoor Archery Championships in 1963 to take the crown in the Amateur Division and won the 1977 Texas State Bass Championship. He was also an excellent golfer and even took up whittling in his retirement.

Charles is survived by his children Diana and husband Kevin Kleiner, Peggy and husband Rudy Olszyk, Dan and wife Joann Rushing, Doug and wife Christina Rushing, and Jacki and husband Carlyle Ordner; by eighteen grandchildren and by seventeen great-grandchildren.

Charles is also survived by his wife, Patricia, as well as her children Michele and husband Doug Pennington and son Jim Wilson and wife Joyce and daughter-in-law Susan Wilson, preceded in death by son David Wilson; by eight grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to the American Heart Association.
