Duane Berry Smith, 79, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, of Granbury, passed away on Sunday afternoon, March 8, 2026, in Fort Worth.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12:00 Noon, on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at the First Christian Church of Granbury, 2109 W. US 377 E, in Granbury.

Irest 5 later date to be announced with Military Honors.

Duane was born on November 14, 1946, in Dearborn, Michigan to the late Zeke and Elsie Smith. He proudly served his country enlisting in the US Marine Corps at age 17. Duane attended the First Christian Church in Granbury. He was involved in various aspects of construction and was a HMFIC before retiring from the Hering Construction Group. Duane will be remembered for his loyalty to whatever he was dedicated to and to always living up to his moral code. Additionally, Duane was always loyal and generous. An avid golfer, he attended the Master's on several occasions. Most of all, Duane will be remembered for the love and loyalty he had for his family – particularly his grandchildren.

Duane is survived by his wife, Tracy; his daughters, Cheryl and husband Guy Anderson, Theresa Fike, and Suzanne and husband Todd Fournier; grandchildren, Forryst, Max, Will, Justin, Jordan, Cory, Ashley, and Kyle; stepchildren, Chris and husband John Carrigan and Jeff and wife Holly Sterling; step-grandchildren, Cole, Jack, Katie, and Jane; and by his sister, Nadine Fairley.

In addition to his parents, Duane was preceded in death by his sister, Kathlene and by his brother, Harold.
