Charles E. Schoeffel, Jr., 85, of Evans City, passed away peacefully Sunday, July 20, 2025 at AHN Wexford, surrounded by his family. Ed was born June 2, 1940, in Evans City, PA, and was the son to the late Charles and Helen (Mays) Schoeffel, Sr. Ed graduated from Evans City High School in 1958 were he played basketball and was a drummer in the band.
Ed was employed by Armco/AK Steel as a Production Planner until retirement in 2002.
Ed attended Westminster United Presbyterian Church in Evans City. Ed was a member of many organizations including the Evans City VFD, the Harmony Lodge No. 429 F&AM, the Syria Shrine, the Lions Club, and the Esquire Club just to name a few. Ed enjoyed watching and attending all Pittsburgh sports teams and was a long-time season ticket holder of the Pittsburgh Steelers along with his sons. Ed's passion was playing golf with his sons, friends and family, and he was a long-time member of Armco Country Club and Oakview Golf Club. He was also an original member of the Tri-Boro Golf League that is still in existence today and also a longtime member of the Friday Night Couples League at Stoughton Acres.
Ed is survived by his sons, Tim (Amy) Schoeffel, and Todd (Jackie) Schoeffel: his daughter in-law, Rachel Schoeffel; his granddaughters, Emily (Dan) O'Leary, Taylor Schoeffel and Alyssa Schoeffel; a great-granddaughter, Quinn; his siblings, Patricia Capella, Jim Schoeffel and Tammy (Sam) Rape; and numerous nieces and their spouses.
In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his 2nd wife, Judy (Nicklas) Schoeffel, his youngest son, Edward J. Schoeffel, and his sister in-law, Becky.
Friends and family will be received from 4-8 P.M. on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at the Boylan Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 856 Evans City Rd., Renfrew, PA 16053.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Thursday, July 24, 2025 at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest at Butler County Memorial Park.
