Charles Louis Servino, a beloved husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, and friend passed away on December 19th in his home at the age of 70.
Born on September 29th, 1954 in Memphis, TN, Chuck was the son of Dorothy and the late John Servino. He graduated from Trinity High School and went on to play football at the University of Kentucky, where he earned his degree in education. He returned to Trinity to become a longtime teacher and coach for the Shamrocks, won several awards for his teaching and coaching talents, became a proud member of the Hall of Fame, and was named the school's Honor Alumnus in 2016.
Chuck was a high school All-American in football, competed in the Junior Olympics, and played on UK teams that won the Peach Bowl and SEC Championship in 1976-1977. He helped lead Trinity football to the State Championship game as a player, assistant coach, and head coach, winning it all in '72, '80, '83', '85, '88, '89, '90, and '94.
Chuck married his beloved childhood sweetheart Beverly ("the boss") nearly 50 years ago and they were practically inseparable, unless he was working his dogs or on his annual hunting trip to North Dakota. They have two daughters and six grandchildren, whom he completely adored. He was a devoted family man with a wonderful sense of humor and an unwavering commitment to taking care of others.
Chuck is survived by his mother Dorothy, wife Beverly, two daughters (Kristina and Dan Schmitt, Kate and Ben Curtsinger), six grandchildren (Julia, Anna, Samuel, Alayna, Kyle, and Kailey), brother Paul, sister Toya Whelan, and countless former students, players, colleagues, coaches, and friends.
