Charles Matthew Spade, a Man of God, 43, of Richfield, finished his race here on Earth on August 10, 2024 with his wife and mother by his side at Temple University Hospital Jeanes Campus in Philadelphia.
Born on December 13, 1980 in Harrisburg, Dauphin County, he is a son of Kenneth and Sarah Beth (Koehler) Spade of Richfield.
On March 23, 2002, he was married to his surviving wife, Christine (Eby) Spade where together they built a Godly home where they were blessed to welcome their children, Chloe, Collin, Cali, Caden, and Cassie.
In addition to his parents, wife, and children, he is survived by his siblings, Lisa Black and her husband Chris, Sandy Rickenbaugh and her husband Wayne, and Clinton Spade and his wife Candy; one brother in law, Brad Eby and his wife Joan; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Kenneth and Arlene Spade and the Rev. Earl and Edith Koehler.
Charlie was a 1999 graduate of East Juniata High School, Cocolamus, and was employed by Nason Benner of
Harrisburg until his recent illness.
Mr. Spade grew up at St. Peter's Community Church of Knousetown and attended Good News Lutheran Brethren Church. As a teen, he accepted Christ as his Savior and recently felt called to be a youth pastor.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on dirt bikes and ATV's with his children and their friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 19, 2024 at the Good News Lutheran Brethren Church, 32868 Route 35 North, McAlisterville with the Rev. Michael Edwards and Pastor Marc Sperlich officiating.
Interment will follow in St. Peter's Community Church Cemetery, Millerstown.
A viewing will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of the services at 11:00 AM on Monday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Spade's memory to the Good News Lutheran Brethren Church, the Spade Family Fund, 32868 Route 35 North, McAlisterville, PA 17049.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 111 Westfall Street, McAlisterville.
