Charles Arthur Standridge of Caddo, Oklahoma passed from this life on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at the age of 80. He was born on Friday, December 29, 1944 in Durant, Oklahoma to Katherine Marie (Cross) and Chester Ruburtis Standridge.
He became a resident of Caddo, Oklahoma in 2018, previously residing in Greenville, Texas. He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1963 - 1969. He married his wife Shirley Joyce (Childers) Standridge on August 23, 1964 in Durant, Oklahoma.
Charles enjoyed fishing and restoring old cars and trucks and loved gardening.
He was preceded in death by his parents Katherine Marie (Cross) and Chester Ruburtis Standridge; and daughter Jani Lynne Buie.
Survivors include his loving wife, of over 60 years, Shirley Joyce (Childers) Standridge of the home; granddaughters Danielle Standridge of Campbell, Texas, Darian Hise of Colorado Springs, Colorado; grandson Slade Hise of Greenville, Texas; great grandchildren Cassian Joseph Price of Campbell, Texas, Aspen Jani Lynne Hise of Greenville, Texas, Arya Pittsinger of Greenville, Texas, Skyler Price of Campbell, Texas; sisters Annie Standridge of Durant, Oklahoma, Georgie Yeager of Durant, Oklahoma; nephew Darell Rhodes and wife Evelyn of Caddo, Oklahoma; many other nephews, nieces, as well as other extended family and friends.
A family visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Thursday, January 16, 2025 at Gordon Funeral Home, 221 N. 3rd Ave. Durant, Oklahoma.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, January 17, 2025 at the Gordon Center, 305 N. 2nd Ave. Durant, Oklahoma with Bro. Darell Rhodes officiating. A graveside service will follow at the Folsom Cemetery in Caddo, Oklahoma. Andy Rhodes, Jason Rhodes, David and Darell Rhodes will serve as pallbearers.
