Charles A. Studdard (Andy), passed away peacefully on July 24, 2025. He was 80 years old. Andy was born on March 30, 1945 in Washington D.C. to James and Mae Studdard. He married Brenda Andrews and together they had five children: Charma, Sandy, Drew, Brandon, and Jamie. He graduated from Ole Miss in 1971 with a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. He received his Master's degree from the University of New Orleans. He went to work for the Army Corps of Engineers in 1973, where he had a stellar career. He went to Kuwait to help extinguish the oil well fires in 1991. He retired from the Corps in 2016 after 43 years. Andy loved music, he was an accomplished pianist and he enjoyed playing the harmonica. He was very adventurous, he loved to bike, hike, to "take a ride" to see the sights all over the country, especially the mountains. He was never content sitting around; he would rather be where something was going on. Andy is survived by his daughter, Charma Shirah (Chris); son, Sandy; son, Drew (Karen); son, Brandon (Vanessa); sister, Marla Mayer (John) and sister, Cindy Lazarus; his grandchildren, Nicholas (Katie); Ashley, Sydney, Brenda, Emily, and Zachary Studdard; his nephews, John, Leo, Lenny, Justin, Mac, and Michael, as well as many beloved "adopted" children and grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father, James Studdard; his mother, Mae Ainsworth; his step-father, Charlie Ainsworth; his youngest son, Jamie Studdard and his nephew, Charlie Mayer. A private family service will be held for Andy at Catching-Sharkey Funeral Home in Summit MS on Wednesday, July 30th. The family wishes to express its appreciation for the compassionate and loving care provided by the staff at Heritage Manor of Mandeville LA, St., Tammany Hospice, and Ochsner Hospital in Jefferson LA.

I was one of his "adopted kids" and I loved Andy like he was my paw paw. He was such a wonderful man helping take care of us. My mom and father always appreciated Andy. He was so fun and I would go w him to his father daughter day at work by the river. May his family heal and Andy can now rest. It's hard but we'll get through this. I love you Andy and will miss you so much. I'll never forget you!! You helped raise me. Oh and th piano competitions were hilarious. Well God bless!!
