Charles Thomas Stumpf

Charles (Chuck) (Charlie) Thomas Stumpf, age 80, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family 2/19/2024 at St. Anns Hospital.
Charles was born in Columbus, Ohio and grew up in the Linden area and attended Linden McKinley High School. Retired from Pennsylvania/Conrail/Norfolk Southern Railroad after a lifelong career of 35+ years. Charles never let the grass grow under his feet, he was always doing something for others and those who knew him found him to have a pleasant personality and was always helping others. He never complained and was easy going. In his younger years he enjoyed many sports, driving cars in demolition derbies, bowling, playing cards, golf, fishing with his friends and going to the racetrack with his father. He later acquired a horse that he loved and raced. He loved the outdoors, had a love for hunting, and enjoyed his yearly trips to Pennsylvania and our families farm in West Virginia. He enjoyed his trips to Canada to fish and fish frys with his friends and family. Charles spent time on the golf course with his spouse Naomi and his friends and enjoyed golf on television. Being a snowbird, Charles enjoyed being in Sarasota, Fl where he spent his winters. He had a love for the water and had a boat and spent time at the North Jettys. He lived a life full of happiness and was so proud of his family.
Survived by his spouse, Naomi (Roberts) Stumpf; sister Della (Bill) Merritt; nieces, Denise (Jim) Smukal; Debbie Merritt; Dawna (Tony) Coletta; nephews, Bret Stumpf, Brian Stumpf, and Shannon Stumpf and many great (great) nieces and great (great) nephews and many cousins and friends. Naomi's son, Steven (Dixie) Roberts; daughter, Tina Roberts and their families; 4 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his mother, Betty (Stumpf) Ellis, father, Robert L. Stumpf, brother and sister-in-law Robert (Bob) and Helen Stumpf and Naomis daughter, Donna MacDonald.
Family and friends may call Monday, Feb 26, 2024, from 4 p.m. until time of service at 7 p.m. at Moreland Funeral Home, 55 E. Schrock Road, Westerville, OH 43081. Graveside service and interment at Blendon Central Cemetery 6330 Hempstead Road Westerville, Ohio 43081 Tuesday, Feb 27, 2024, at 1 p.m.
